We celebrate our boss’s 50th birthday!

16th May was our boss’s birthday, but it was Sunday. We planned to celebrate him the next day(17th May).

We had been planning since the middle of April. At the same time, when I chanced upon looking at my client’s Facebook, I found a cake painted caricature  of their president.

It impressed me so much, and I wished  to send our boss a cake similar to that for his 50th birthday.

I suggested it to Yuko and Amo,and they agreed immediately!

And we discussed so much, finally we created a very funny character named TOMOLEON.

TOMOLEON is named by Yoki.

Our boss (TOMOHIRO)  rides an airplane with a baguette  in right hand like Napoleon rides a horse with a sword in right hand.

Before the covid-19, he visited France many times, but now it is impossible today, and we are longing to be able to go abroad without any restrictions in the near future for him to enjoy France like before covid-19.

That’s why it was named TOMOLEON.

One holiday, I tried to draw TOMOLEON.

Yo propondré a Yuko y Amo, y Ellas aprobaron inmediatamente

I showed it to other members…They loved it so much.

Next we had to plan how to perform. But it was too difficult because we should never associate him with his birthday.Of course we can’t bring the cake to the office.

We considered so much…Finally it was decided‼

・Yuko keeps the cake at her house, because she lives nearest to the office and is able to pick it up.

・Yuko,Yoki,Amo,  leave the office by 17:15 completely.

・I(Yumeko) go out for sales until 17:00,and return to the office after 17:15 and ask our boss

”Has everyone gone home yet?”

At the same time…Yuko,Yoki, and Amo prepare the cake.

Namely, at first we disappoint him once, after that in a moment we surprise him by opening the door of the office suddenly and pulling the party popper and turning off the light, and the celemony begins with the birthday cake.

We were confident of this complete strategy!

Finally,17:00 of the day has come, it’s time to do it!

I was going back to the office on schedule,I met with Amo near the office.

Let’s discover Osaka : Tamatsukuri Fushimi Inari Shrine

For today’s visit, we are digging deeper in Osaka and the city’s history.  Let’s visit Tamatsukuri Fushimi Inari shrine.

You probably have already heard the name “Fushimi Inari” right ? you know, THE shrine in Kyoto famous for its +1000 red torii gates. Well, there are in fact hundreds of Fushimi shrines around Japan.  Kyoto’s Fushimi happened to be the head shrine, but today we will visit one of Osaka’s Fushimi Shrines.

Situated just 5 min walk from Tamatsukuri station ( near Osaka Castle).  Even though the shrine is quite small, it has a long and interesting story:

Due to its location ( near Osaka Castle), Tamatsukuri was at the center of the “Osaka siege” during the Sengoku war. The siege of Osaka Castle was a series of battles undertaken by the Tokugawa shogunate against the Toyotomi clan (powerful samurais), and ending in that clan’s destruction.

You will be able to find some interesting remains of this epic battle around the shrine.

Tamatsukuri fushimi Inari shrine is said to have a 2000 years history but the current buildings are post-war reconstructions. As often with Japanese shrines, you will find a main shrine, and many sub-shrines on the same grounds.  At Tamatsukuri, you will find 2 interesting “power spots” ( spiritual spots).

Yonazuga Daimyojin sub-shrine:  Yonazuga  can be translated as “placenta” ( yes I know!, Yuk!). It is said that Toyotomi Hideyori’s mother’s placenta was buried here after she gave birth to him. It is believed that the bond between  a mother and child can not be destroyed, and therefore today, Yonazuga Daimyojin serve as a deity for people who want to strengthen their bonds: was it love, work, friendship or anything else.

The next “must-see” at Tamatsukuri Fushimi Inari Shrine ( and my favourite) is the Torii you can see at the back of the shrine. The Torri has a long history and a deep meaning for the people living in the area.

After the Winter siege of Osaka, the grounds around the castle were on fire and everything was destroyed except this torri, an offering from Toyotomi Hideyori. The torri stood strong for hundreds of years near the Castle, it also survived the War Bombing above Osaka until it finally fell after the Kobe earthquake of 1995.  After the devastating earthquake, the remaining top part of the torri was moved to Tamatsukuri shrine. It is now a symbol of strongness.

As any other Fushimi Inari shrine across Japan, you will find a lot of cute foxes statues and Ema ( wooden wishing plates) around the shrine.  The ema you can find here are particularly cute : 2 foxes “bonded” together in a heart shape.  A must get for anyone who wishes for a strong love bond!

Off the beaten tracks, Tamatsukuri Shrine will make a nice, short visit in the middle of one of Osaka’s busiest districts.

After visiting the Tamatsukuri Fushimi Inari Shrine, why don’t you continue your exploration with the Osaka Castle and Park. Both are just a 5 min walk from the shrine.

See you soon with another  Osaka’s adventure !

l welcome you my neighborhood『Fukushima』

※※※ The part written in Italic letters are Spanish ※※※

Hello! I’m YUMEKO.

I live in Fukushima, exactly Fukushima ward in Osaka city, not Fukushima prefecture.

Fukushima ward is located a little bit northwest from central Osaka, and it’s possible to go to Umeda by walk about 15 minutes.

I love this area so much, because there are many beautiful and exciting spots in my neighborhood along Naniwasuji street between Fukushima station and Dojima river, it’s almost 700 meters. And it has both stylish and nostalgy atmosphere.

Hola ! Soy YUMEKO.

Between Fukushima station and Route 2…surrounded by many shops, many different kinds of restaurants and bar and cafeteria, office buildings and hotel(HOTEL HANSHIN).

Above all there are many Ramen, Udon and Donburi, Stake restaurants, grilled chicken, Japanese style Izakaya and wine bar, it’s so exciting to walk around here.

Walking to south, between Route 2 and Dojima river…there are many shops and restaurants also, but  the the atmosphere you can find is changed a little bit calmer because around here is more residential there are from apartment to condominium like skyscraper. I live around here, but which one I live…depend on your imagine.

And around here, there is a shrine it’s called“Fukushima Tenmangu”.

It’s tiny but adored by many people as a one of the “Tenmangu” that exist approximately 12,000 in Japan.

All of “Tenmangu” are dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane who is known as “God of academic”. Why?

Sugawara no Michizane is a historical figure who read poems at the age of 5 and wrote Chinese poems at the age of 11. His superior talent is what led to the dissemination of the “Tenjin faith” throughout Japan. To this day, many students that pray for passing the entrance examinations.

Next from “Fukushima Tenmangu”,there are UDON restaurant “Sanku”and ODEN restaurant “Hanakujira”.

They are very famous and popular, many people used to wait in front of the store before Covid-19, nowadays they offer take-out service.

Finally reached beside Dojima river, on the east side there is TV station and behind it exists a courtyard surrounded by commercial buildings and condominiums like skyscrapers that comfortable place for relaxation filled with trees and seasonal flowers. This whole area is called “Hotarumachi”.  I often come this place to relax.

Next month, we are in the middle of spring, and season of more various flowers such as cherry blossoms, azalea, wisteria, and rose.

It’s most of my favorite season and I’m looking forward to this spring 2021!

How to complete 10th anniversary special mission !!

Hello, everyone!

This is Yoki. It is quite sudden, but Team Travel Kuramoto was 10th anniversary of foundation on 8th March of this year!!

And we, team members, wanted to give something special to our boss secretly, and prepared a surprise gift from a month ago below the surface.

First of all, we wanted to have him drink wine in the best condition as he loves one very much.
So we prepared a wine glass of RIEDEL whose glasses are shaped according to the grape variety. If you have an opportunity, please give it a try.

And put our company’s logo on it. Then we put the message on the bottom of the glass

” A Toast to 10years 2011-2021 Kampai!”

Next, we prepared a bottle of wine.

In addition, Amo made our company’s original label on it!!

I’m sure she can be a designer!!

Now the mission of the gifts was completed!
Let’s prepare message cards next!!

Amo made also the great message cards like flight tickets. Then each message card was lined up into the frame.

It’s cool, isn’t it?? 🙂

After that, we considered how to give these presents to our boss…..then……

Finally, the day of 10th anniversary was coming! It was Monday.
We have an internal meeting every Monday morning.
When the serious meeting is about to end, Yumeko said suddenly,
“Hey Boss, I want to show everyone some movie. Could you give me some time?”
Our boss had a strange look on his face. “Yes, sure.”
The next moment, the video summarized of Team Travel Kuramoto’s for the past 10 years was playing!!
To tell the truth, Yumeko and Yuko staying late at the office the day before to make this movie!!

Boss was too surprised and solidified for a while. lol

After that, we gave him the presents.Look at his wonderful smile!!!

So the 10th anniversary special surprise was a great success!!!

We all did our best to make the anniversary successful!!!

What??? Did you say something?????
Ohhh!! You mean what the hell did I do????
…………aghhhhh……

There is one thing that I learned a lot about this time!!!

“””Women are more reliable for the surprise gift than men!!!”””

Anyway, Thanks everyone so much for always kind support for Team Travel Kuramoto!!!

A toast to 10 years!!!! Kampaaaaaai!!!!!!
